World War II and Brad Pitt as a Assassin it works right?

Brad Pitt stars alongside Marion Cotillard (The Dark Knight Rises, Inception) in Paramount Pictures and New Regency’s upcoming drama/thriller, Allied. The tandem plays a pair of assassins who fall in love, get married, and then discover that one is a double agent that the other must eliminate.

Set during World War II in Casablanca, Morocco, and based on a true story, "Allied" stars Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard as two spy assassins who fall in love during a mission to kill a German official.

Pitt and Cotillard’s characters begin their relationship during a mission in 1942 Africa when tasked to kill a German ambassador. Dark and unsettling secrets from their past will make it difficult for them to be together, however.

Directed by Robert Zemeckis ("Forrest Gump," "Cast Away"), it looks to have eye-popping special effects (he also did the World Trade Center high-wire walk movie "The Walk") and some thriller aspects.

Watch the teaser below. The movie opens in theaters November 23.
